STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
EMMETSBURG MUNICIPAL UTILITIES
The Emmetsburge Municipal
Utilities Board of Trustees was established by the
City Council for the purpose of operating and maintaining
a municipally-owned utility for the citizens of Emmetsburg,
Iowa.
Gas, Water and Sewer
Utilities are operated under the same guiding principles
which follow:
To provide the highest
quality and most reliable service possible, at the
lowest reasonable costs, consistent with sound business
practices.
To maintain adequate
and necessary revenues and reserves, in order to provide
and maintain up-to-date facilities and equipment.
To employ capable
staff, with strong work ethics and high technical
skills, and provide for their ongoing training, safety
and equipment needs.
To strive for continued
growth and development of both the utility and the
community, utilizing all appropriate technologies,
resources, and strategies.
